Happy 6 month birthday Princess!!!

6 months ago to the minute, I was meeting my daughter for the first time. Before she was born I would not have considered myself an emotional person, yes I would cry occasionally but I did not tear up over little things. Since she graced us with her presence my life has been one emotional roller coaster after another. I cried when I first saw her, I was scared when she was tested for hip dysplacia, I cried when she had her first shots, I worried when she got the string caught around her finger, I agonized over when her teeth would come in, and rejoiced and teared up when they did. Something about the no more gummy smiles made my eyes water….now today 6 months after she was born I find myself looking at her, and the child she is becoming, in awe. She is advanced for her age, she thinks she is much older than she is, while the whole time I am asking her to slow down. I never knew I could love like this. I love my parents, siblings, husband, etc….but this is a different kind of love. It’s the kind of love that if someone were to hurt her I cannot promise that I would not do the same thing to them. She is my princess, she is the light of my life. Each morning I wake up and look forward to seeing her smiling, sleepy face. She is precious. This morning I went in and sang “Happy Birthday” and she smiled and laughed, life is amazing to her. She loves that when she hears the creak of her bedroom door that if she looks she will see someone hoping to catch a glimpse of her. And when she sees them her face will break into a huge grin (like her Daddy’s goofy grin) and she will bury her face in her mattress in excitement. This is the little girl we spent months preparing for, praying for and prepping ourselves for. She is beautiful, she is full of life, she is our daughter. Happy birthday Princess!!!

Time flies when you’re….

Sorry it has been so long since I last did a personal blog entry….I have tried to keep the blog active anyway by posting giveaways and things of interest. Lately things have just been crazy around here and although I am on the computer a lot it’s not usually for long stretches of time where I can sit down and compose a post. A few weeks ago I started doing childcare from home which I love because, above all else, I can be home with the princess. She is growing more and more everyday, and her personality continues to become more prominent. The part that scares me is that she seems to be a clone of me (atleast personality wise). She is SUPER independent, and wants to do things her own way. She is curious, seldom still, and loves to laugh right in life’s face. She is amazing. I have always heard the cliche that you never knew you could love like that, well it’s true. That little girl is my life. I love going into her nursery in the mornings and watching her eyes light up when she sees me, followed by that dimpled grin. It’s hard to believe in 8 days she will be 6 months old. I have already been thinking about ideas on what  to do for her 1st birthday party. It won’t be huge, but I want it to be special :).

I’m not sure if I have posted this here, but hubby started school to get a teaching certification. It’s an 8 week course, which he is currently on week 3 of. Afterwards he teaches at a local school for a year as an “intern” then has to apply for a full-time position. He is loving being back in school, and looking forward to the possibility that will bring. Right now things are tight since unemployment ran out July 3rd, and he can’t work while in school (due to the course load and homework)….so we are struggling financially….I have been trying to sell some clothes and accessories online, which has brought in a little. And I am hoping to have a yard sale within the next week or two to make a bit more. It’s no wonder I’m tired and sore all the time….stuff can stress you out!

Oh well, I guess I will go get some things done before the girls wake up!!

Time flies when you’re:

– tired

– busy

– having fun

– all of the above

Online Sale of Clothes, shoes, purses and jewelry!!!!!

Most of you know our predicament….my hubby lost his job in June 2009, and we had just found out we were expecting 2 weeks prior. Since June 2009 he has applied for over 350 positions….to no avail. He is now in the Career Switcher program to become a teacher, he is very excited about this opportunity. Unfortunately the gov’t is not renewing unemployment benefits and ours run out on July 3rd. Since he is in school he is not able to work a full time job to bring in any sort of financial assistance. I work from home doing childcare, but this alone will not get our bills paid. I have gone through my closet and jewelry box and found a lot of nice things that  I am willing to part with to help make ends meet. Please visit this site and let me know if you see something you like!! I will ship any items as well if you are not in the Hampton Roads, VA area.  Please just comment under the picture of the item(s) you would like and when you are done “Shopping” send me a message on Facebook. I will then send you a PayPal invoice for the items you purchased (and will include shipping if necessary). Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this….
